Thank you to all of Mom's friends for the kind words left here, as well as the many words of comfort shared during her illness and afterward. Our family has loved hearing stories about your experiences with her. Something that wasn't mentioned during her services may seem silly to some, but I'm going to share anyway. For as long as I can remember, Mom loved popcorn. It didn't occur to me until recently that she loved popcorn not entirely for the taste. What she really loved was eating the popcorn with her family and friends. Popcorn isn't what one would call a fancy or expensive food, but Mom found immeasurable value in sharing a huge bowl of it with people she cared about. Enjoying a bowl of popcorn with my mom could take away the pains and worries of the day, or it could celebrate even the smallest of accomplishments. For those of you who remember my mom popping up a few batches in her battered old popper (given to her by a long-time family friend) and for those who didn't have the chance, please think of her when you enjoy your next taste. If you don't eat the stuff, it doesn't matter. Know that Mom loved you anyway; she wouldn't hold it against you, and she'd be happy to eat your share. Thanks for being part of Mom's life. Every one of you made a difference.

My deepest sympathy to Bob and all of Betty's kids. She was a wonderful friend for any years and when I think of the many memories we shared all I can do is smile. She was quite the lady! God sure did get a Special Angel now! Love you and miss you! Fly high Betty...

So sorry for your loss. No matter how old we are we always need our mom. I know you'll all have a lot of special memories. Betty was a special lady and I'll miss her.
