Charlotte Coyth Hendrix, nee Woolly, of Steelville, Missouri passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018 and went to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 91 years, 8 months and 11 days. She was born November 22, 1926 in Denver, Colorado to Charles and Nellie Sherman Woolly. In 1943, Charlotte was united in marriage to James "Jim" Hendrix who preceded her in death in 1989. To this union, Charlotte and her husband had one son.
Charlotte was raised in the Assembly of God Church and was a ordained minister of many years who loved to share God's love. Her father was also a minister, so she followed in his footsteps. One of Charlotte's last employment was working in the Community Christian Academy in Steelville. For several years, Charlotte taught a Bible study in her home. Charlotte enjoyed working with crafts and being outside. She loved listening to gospel music, hearing the word of God preached and visits from her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim Hendrix; sisters-in-law, Juanita Penock, Dorothy Harmon and Linda Hendrix; and brothers-in-law, Zane Pennock and Bill Hendrix.
She is survived by her son, James Edward Hendrix of Georgia; four grandchildren, Tina, Rebecca, Mitchell and Hope; two great-grandchildren, Andria and Stephen; brother-in-law, Ben Pennock of Steelville, MO; sisters-in-law, Glenda Hendrix of Farmington, MO and Carmeleet Pennock of Eldon, MO; other relatives and friends.
A visitation was held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.
A memorial inurnment service was held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at the Steelville Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating and singing “Amazing Grace.” Memories were shared by Charlotte’s friends.
