Chester Glen Alvey

Chester Glen Alvey, age 71 years of Steelville, Missouri passed away Friday, September 20, 2019 at his home. He was born November 10, 1947 in Sherrill, Missouri to Benjamin and Lucy Firestine Alvey. On November 7, 1967 in Steelville, he was united in marriage to LaDonna Green.

Chester was self-employed working in the timber for many years. He loved music and played his guitar, banjo or harmonica for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and was a talented craftsman in building with wood and metal. Chester always loved taking care of his yard and kept it immaculate.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, James Franklin Alvey, Bobby Dale Alvey, Charles Alvey; and two sisters, infant, Helen Marie Alvey and Barbara Lucille Alvey; brother-in-law, Allen Green; and sister-in-law, Robin Green.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of fifty-one years, LaDonna Alvey; one son, Ben (Tonya) Alvey of Cherryville, MO; one daughter, Melissa (Jeremy) Ransom of Leasburg, MO; four grandchildren, Logan Alvey, Jasmine Alvey, Morgan Ransom and Austin Alvey; two brothers, Billy Ray (Iona) Alvey of Cuba, MO and Lester Alvey of Bourbon, MO; one sister, Loretta (Vick) Trout; sister-in-law, Cheryl Alvey of Bourbon, MO; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Ronnie Green and Roger (Patricia) Green all of Cherryville, MO, Michael (Karen) Green of Caledonia, MO, Tammy (Pat) McCartney of Ditmer, MO and Lisa Green of Sligo, MO; other relatives; and many friends.

He chose cremation as his final disposition and there will be no service.
