Joyce Elaine (Hurley) Hudson

Joyce Elaine Hudson, nee Hurley, of Steelville, Missouri passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Cuba Manor. She was born October 21, 1945 in St. Louis, Missouri to William and Rhonda Blankenship Hurley. Joyce was united in marriage on December 8, 1964 in St. Louis, MO to Cecil L. Hudson.

Joyce attended the Cherryville Church of God when her health allowed. She always enjoyed crocheting, watching Jimmy Swaggart on TV and visiting with friends and neighbors. Most of all, Joyce loved being with her family and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cecil Hudson; one daughter, Marilyn Wilson; sisters and brother, Verna Yates, Linda Spence and Stan Hurley.

She is survived by her four sons, Tony (Kim) Hudson of Cuba, MO, Terry Hudson of Cherryville, MO, Dave (Donna) Hudson of Clarksville, MO and Kenneth Hudson of Leasburg, MO; two daughters, Vivian Hohn of Commerce City, CO and Carolyn Bridges of Pevely, MO; sisters and brothers, Patsy Simms of Park Hills, MO, Roger Hurley of Overland, MO and Herman “Sonny” Hurley, Joette Huntley and Sharon Hurley of St. Louis, MO and Ronda Hurley of Arnold, MO; twenty-two grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; other relatives; and many friends.

The Family received friends from 11:00 a .m. until service time on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home with Pastor Clifford Bridgeman and Pastor Jason Hudson officiating. Special music of "Knowing you will be there" was sung by Louis Hudson. Other music of "I Want to Stroll over Heaven with you" and "Lights of Home" was played.

Committal prayer and interment were in the Steelville Cemetery.

Honored to be casket bearers were Jason Hudson, Terry Hudson Jr., Alex Hudson, Bryan Bridges, Josh Wilson and Matt Adair.

The Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.
