Justin Gunn Obituary

Justin Daniel Gunn was born in Sullivan Missouri on July 2, 1980 to JoAnn Gunn (Cahill) and Raymond “Buddy” Gunn. Justin was the second oldest of 4 siblings. Justin, age 38, passed away on Saturday October 27th, 2018.

Justin was full of life and never met a stranger. He was outgoing and everyone’s friend. He attended Steelville R-3 Schools where he started playing sports at a young age. Justin excelled as an athlete and won numerous awards over the years for baseball, basketball, cross country, track and golf. There really wasn’t anything Justin wasn’t good at. From doing back flips in the pool with his childhood friends, hunting, fishing, playing pranks on his “granny chick”, playing his harmonica, or just making everyone laugh. Justin was one of the most loving and caring people. He would literally give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He attended the St. James Assembly of God Church and was recently baptized. Justin loved the outdoors, whether he was fishing, hunting, walking in the woods, mushroom hunting or riding dirt bikes.

He started working right out of high school and that motivation and work ethic drove him to start his own business, Gunn’s Roofing.  Justin was an incredibly hard worker and was always there to help others and was a member of the Missouri National Guard.

Justin was joined in marriage to Danyel McCollum on April 23, 2004 and 4 precious boys were born as a result of this union.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents William “Budge” Gunn and Winifred (Moody) Gunn; and maternal grandfather Earl Garms.

Justin leaves behind a wife, Danyel Gunn and 6 beautiful children, Gatlin Gunn, Payton Gunn, Carson Gunn, Evan Gunn, Greylen Weller, and Alexis Weller; his parents JoAnn (John) Cahill, Raymond “Buddy” (Lynn) Gunn; siblings, Jessica (JW) Hanner, Julie (Randy) Skinner, Johnnie Evans; grandmother Georgia “Granny Chick” Garms; nieces, Paige Gunn, Ava Skinner, Alayna Skinner, Alexandra Skinner, Annabella Skinner, Rory Hanner, Hannah McCollum, Arienne McCollum, Kierstin McCollum, Katelyn Belue and Heather McCollum; nephew, Dorian Halbert, Dameon Hawkins, Thomas Hawkins, Samuel Evans, Hunter McCollum, Alex McCollum, Eli McCollum, and Jay McCollum; mother-in-law, Peggy McCollum; brother-in-laws, John McCollum, David McCollum and Fred Belue; sister-in-laws, Raven Belue, Rebecca McCollum, and Mary McCollum; many more aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Justin will be remembered as a caring father, loving son, and the best Brother. He had a contagious smile and a bright and shinning soul full of love, laughter and happiness. He brought joy to everyone that knew him.
