Lorene Eunice (Willhite) Dunn

Lorene Eunice Dunn, nee Willhite, of Washington, Missouri, formerly of Dillard, Missouri passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017 in Washington at the age of 94 years, 1 month and 16 days. She was born February 26, 1923 in Dillard, Missouri to Corbett Lethel Willhite and Hessie Elizabeth Turnbough Willhite. She was united in marriage to Burrel Lee Dunn and to this union four sons and two daughters were born.

Lorene was an accountant for the U.S. Postal Service for thirty years. At forty years of age, she went back to school receiving her associate's degree in accounting. For her enjoyment, she loved music and books. She spent many hours reading and was a collector of records.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Radis Willhite and wives, Christy and Geneva; three sisters, Dorothy Elizabeth Nunn and husband Dulaney, Muriel Turnbough and husband Delmer and Myrtle Adelee Willhite.

Lorene is survived by four sons, Randall Dunn of Washington, MO, Richard Dunn and wife Connie of Springfield, MO, Daniel Dunn and wife Elaine of Fenton, MO and Lawrence Dunn and wife Becky of Las Vegas, NV; two daughters, Robyn Dunn of Washington, MO and Kimberlee Dunn of Cuba, MO; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The Family received friends from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO with Rev. Mike Hill officiating. Special music of "The Old Rugged Cross", "In the Garden" and "Amazing Grace" was played by Dawn Girard and sung by Dawn Girard, Chris and Felicia Girard. Neva Hill read the 23rd Psalm and Craig Dunn shared special memories.

Committal prayer and interment were in the Sellers Cemetery, Dillard, MO.

Honored to be casket bearers were Larry Dunn, Rick Dunn, Randy Dunn, Danny Dunn, Nicholas Dunn, Brian Dunn and Craig Dunn.

The Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.
