Bruce Anselmo Ortiz of Steelville, Missouri, formerly of Chimayo, New Mexico, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2020 in St. Louis. He was born March 22, 1970 to Anselmo and Lavera Carol Kessler Ortiz.

He was employed as a mover of modular homes while in New Mexico and was presently employed at Aerofil Technology in Sullivan. About ten years ago he moved to the Steelville area to be nearer his sister. Bruce loved to travel. He was more than willing to try anything new or different. He worked hard so he could play even harder; and did. He was an avid golfer and did very well. He played on multiple courses all over the nation. He loved last minute get togethers, road trips and historic venues. He loved to eat and would try any dish once. He was generous, sometimes to a fault. He had a big heart, gave of himself completely and never met a stranger. He gave his heart to Christine, loved his family, lived his faith in God and was always there for his friends.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Anselmo and Carol Ortiz.

He will be sadly missed by his fiancé, Christine Rysteo-Ortiz of Steelville, MO; two sisters, Francina (Kevin) Halbert of Steelville, MO and Elizabeth Ortiz (companion, Oscar Irequi) of Manhattan, NY; and one brother, Donald (Anja) Ortiz of Santa Fe, NM.

There will be a memorial service at a later date.
