Dennis "Buck" Lee Simpson, Sr. of Cherryville, Missouri passed away Monday, April 21, 2014 at the age of 64 years, 3 months and 29 days. He was born December 23, 1949 in Steelville, Missouri to John Thomas Simpson and Arnetti "Lillie" Oxendine Simpson. On October 5, 2003 in Steelville, MO, he was united in marriage to Sheila Elaine Callahan.

Dennis was self employed for several years working as a concrete finisher. He always enjoyed working on lawn mowers and small mechanical engines in his spare time.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Sheila Simpson of Cherryville, MO; his sons and daughters, Ruby Simpson and fiance' Rondel of TX, Dennis Simpson, Jr. and wife Shajuana of Cherryville, MO, Mark Simpson and wife Patty, James Simpson and wife Michele and Hershel Simpson and wife Christy all of Sullivan, MO, Josh Simpson and wife Rebecca of TX, Chris Simpson and wife Kelli of Belle, MO, Angel Simpson and husband Cameron of IL, Brandee Hurst and fiance' Steve and Jennifer O'Neail all of Steelville, MO; two brothers, John Simpson and wife Liz of Cuba, MO and Joe Simpson of Cherryville, MO; two sisters, Ruth Hill and husband Elgie of Cuba, MO and Betty Sterling of Steelville, MO; brothers in-law, Sam Callahan and wife Lilli of Cuba, MO and Steve Callahan of Viburnum, MO; sisters in-law, Anita Nickelson of Steelville, MO, Cathy Brown and husband Dwayne of Cherryville, MO, Sharon Thompson and Sondra Veach and husband Johnny all of Cuba, MO and Patricia Reed of Pacific, MO; forty-eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; special niece "Stephi"; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Thomas Simpson and Arnetti "Lillie" Oxendine Simpson; his mother and father in-law, Landis Callahan and Alva Conaway Callahan; infant son; brother, Dale Simpson; sister, Ruby Christenson; special nephew, Myron Garms; sister in-laws, Fern Callahan and Sylvia Stroup and husband Raymond; and brother in-laws, Lindell Thompson and Don Nickelson.

The Family received friends from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.

A funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO with Rev. Ellen Ryerson officiating. Special music of "Master's Bouquet" and "Go Rest High" was sung and played by Richard Ryerson. Other music of "I'll Be Loving You, Love Me" and "Daddy's Hands" was played. Special memories were shared by son, Dennis Simpson.

Committal prayer and interment were in the Martin-Trask Cemetery, Cherryville, MO. Special music of "Look at Us" and "If Tomorrow Never Comes" was played.

Honored to be casket bearers were Dennis Simpson, Jr., James Simpson, Hershel Simpson, Mark Simpson, Chris Simpson and Shane Ryerson with honorary casket bearers, Josh Simpson, Ruby Simpson, Angel Simpson, Brandee Hurst and Jennifer O'Neail.

The Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.
