Frances Emma Yeary, nee Hertlein, was born, July 15, 1910 at Bourbon, Missouri to Frederick Hertlein and Emma Katherine Biller Hertlein. She departed this life, Saturday, October 10, 2015 in her Crawford County home at the age of 105 years. On May 4, 1929 in Rolla, Missouri she was united in marriage to Milton B. Yeary and to this union one daughter, Lorna Reasor and one son, Milton Frederick Yeary were born. Frances grew up in Cuba received her teaching certificate in Rolla and then moved to the country to teach at the Yeary School. After marrying Milton B. Yeary, she and her husband lived on the land that had been in his family for five generations. She fell in love with the country and being a farmer and a cattleman's wife. Frances grew up attending St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cuba and later became a member at the Steelville Presbyterian Church. In earlier years, she was very active in the Self-Culture Club which helped organize the Steelville Library. Frances loved reading, writing poetry, keeping journals and visiting with her many friends and neighbors. She cherished all nature especially trees, flowers and birds. She was a passionate St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan even until her final days. She loved her special companions, her cats, Annie, Sapphire and Bootsie. The Family would like to thank her caregivers for their love and compassion for the last four years, Wanda Swyers, Scott Stark and Stanette Wallen. Frances will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter, Lorna Reasor of Salisbury, NC; one sister, Dorothy Steffen of Franklin, NC; nine grandchildren, Miles Yeary of Steelville, MO, Merrit Yeary and wife Carrie and Meredith Yeary-Coyne and husband Ciaran of Seattle, WA; Megan Yeary of Wesco, MO, Melissa Yeary of Portland, OR, Claudia Callivas and husband Nick of Pawleys Island, SC, Clayton Reasor and wife Janet of Austin, TX, Lydia Dayton and husband Britt of Davidson, NC and Todd Reasor of Cromberg, CA; eight great-grandchildren, Noah, Cooper, Emma, Emily, Michael, Robert, Caroline and Rebecca; nephew, Bill Freeman and wife Jeannette of Steelville, MO; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Milton B. Yeary; son, Milton Frederick Yeary; two brothers, Edwin and Oscar Hertlein; two sisters, Anna Mae Sebastian and Lorna Niemiller; one grandson, Matthew Christopher Yeary; one great-grandson, George Reasor Haigh; and son-in-law, George Reasor. Graveside services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at the Steelville Cemetery, Steelville, MO with Rev. John Welton officiating. Music of "Beautiful Savior" and "A Mighty Fortress is Our God" was sung by family and friends. The Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.
