Obituary

Mamie "Irene" McKinley was born Friday, August 25, 1933 in Cherryville, MO, the daughter of the late Marcena Elizabeth (Martin) Morrison and the late Raymond Ellis Morrison. Irene entered eternal rest on Monday, October 27, 2014 at Sullivan, MO at the age of 81 years, 2 months and 2 days.
As a young lady, Irene moved to St. Louis. It was there she began her family, a daughter, Janice and sons, Ron and Danny McKinley. While in St. Louis, Irene had a variety of jobs from food service to care giver and to machine assembler. She was an active member of Carondelet Baptist Church for many years and served as a crusader in the Billy Graham ministry in St. Louis where she helped others in finding the Lord. She had made a profession of faith at a young age while she and her family attended Cherryville Baptist Church in Cherryville.
Irene retired from R & W re-builders and returned to the Steelville area to be near her mother. She enjoyed visiting with her mother, sister, keeping her grandchildren and attending First Baptist Church where she became a member.
She transitioned from her home to Gibbs Manor where she resided until her passing. Although Irene attended Southern Baptist services throughout her life, she enjoyed attending services of other denominations. She especially enjoyed listening to Rev. Jerry Beers, when he would deliver his weekly sermon at Gibbs Care Center.
Irene treasured her Sunday visits with her son Danny. She made sure to let everyone know he was coming to visit and bringing her White Castle hamburgers. Tuesday nights were equally special times in Irene's life, because her granddaughter, Shannon, would come to visit her. She appreciated the impromptu visits with her lifelong friend, Ruby and her brother Carl stopping by for a chat. She also loved visits from her brother Claude and family.
Family members left  behind are her children, Janice Tallent (Eric Wohaska) of Gray Summit, MO, Ron McKinley (Bonnie) of Jefferson City, MO and Danny McKinley (Connie) of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Crystal, Justin, Shannon, Ronnie, Danny, Jodi and Alex; great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins; brother, Claude Morrison (Sandra) of Cuba, MO; and sister, Norma Duke of Arnold, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Rayiene Morrison, Lennie Morrison (Alma), Lloyd Morrison (Lemoin); and two sisters, Naomi Richardson (Claude) and Maryanna Thompson (Cliff).
