Martha Ann Martin, nee Smith, of Salem, Missouri passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis at the age of 68 years. She was born June 8, 1947 in Alderson, West Virginia to Leslie Ellis Smith and Ruby Eveylyn Grimmitt Smith. She was united in marriage to Clent Martin on July 4, 1985 in Villa Ridge, Missouri. Martha loved playing cards with friends, liked to shop and most of all loved spending time with her grandson, Justin. She was loved by all who knew her. Martha was a member of the Jehovah Witness Church of Salem. She is survived by her two daughters, Missy Mueller of Sullivan, MO and Ellie Louise Weckerly of Salem, MO; two brothers, John Louis Smith of Narrows, VA; Charles Smith of Chicago, IL; one sister, Mary Ellis Prichard of Elizabeth City, NC; four grandsons, Christopher Cox, James Bauer, William Bauer and Justin Rowley; and great-grandson, Dominic Cox; nieces, nephews; other relatives; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Eveylyn Smith; her husband, Clent Martin; one son, Steven Cox; three brothers, Little Johnny Smith, Aaron Smith and James Smith; and cousin, Iva S. Nowlan; The Family chose cremation as the final disposition. There will be an inurnment at a later date in West Virginia. The Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.
