Mary Maxine Mitchell, nee Minor, passed away Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Gibbs Care Center in Steelville, MO at the age of 74 years. She was born December 18, 1937 to the late William Minor and Bessie Genevieve Talbert Minor. On September 17, 1955 in Mississippi she was united in marriage to Paul Mitchell who preceded her in death.

Mary worked for the Little Sisters of the Poor in the house keeping department. She loved going to yard sales, cooking, and time spent with family at her home.

She is survived by two sons Paul Mitchell and wife Sandra of Cherryville, MO; James Mitchell and wife Karen of Pocahontas,IL.;  four daughters Gayla Brock and husband Ricky of Cherryville, MO; Pam Dinsmore and husband James of Arnold, MO; Kay Kennedy and husband Charlie of Cahokia,IL and Patty Jones and husband Howard of St. Louis, MO; one sister Imogene Bradley and husband Mason of Narrows,VA; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Paul; one son Junior Dale; one sister Deloris Jacques; and one grandson Paul Manuel.

The family received friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.

Funeral services were held at  2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Pastor Larry Buettner officiating. Special music of "I Will Rise",  "Sissy's Song" and "When I get where I'm Going" was played.

Committal prayer and burial were in the Cherryville Baptist Church Cemetery at Cherryville, MO.

Honored to be casket bearers were Matt Brock, Bryan Brock, Charlie Kennedy, Josh Mitchell, Michael Mitchell and Brenden Mitchell.

The Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, Missouri.
