Robert Simpson Brown Jr. of Athens, AL passed away Friday August 21, 2015 at the age of 73 at his residence. He was born November 21, 1941 to Robert Simpson Brown Sr. and Myram Bertha Duggar Brown in San Diego, California. On December 26, 1970, he was united in marriage to Marlene Adams. Funeral Services were held August 26, 2015 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Athens, AL with Dr. Dan Hughes, Rev. Ron Oakley, Rev. Charles Bagwell and Rev. Daniel Metcalfe officiating. Graveside Services were held Friday, August 28, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Salem, MO with Rev. Doug Walter officiating.  Special music of "Amazing Grace" was led by Robert S. Brown III. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Simpson Brown Sr. and Myram Bertha Duggar Brown; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frances and Dorothy Bryson Adams. Robert is survived by his wife Marlene Adams Brown of Athens, AL; one son, Robert S Brown III (Debra) of Owens Mill, Maryland; one daughter Sarah Metcalfe (Daniel) of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; and brother-in-law, Marvin and Sally Adams of Jackson, MO. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Anna Metcalfe, Ruthie Metcalfe, Grant Metcalfe, Joshua Metcalfe and Sophie Brown. He was an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. The Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.
