Rosie L. Halbert, nee Edwards, 97, of Steelville, MO passed away Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Gibbs Care Center. She was born June 16, 1913 in Crawford County, MO to Robert Edwards and Haney Elizabeth (Lamascus) Edwards. On June 9, 1928 in Hiawatha, KS, she was united in marriage to Milton Halbert who preceded her in death on April 6, 1989. She is survived by one sister-in-law, Melba Edwards of Sulllivan, MO; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Milton; brothers and sisters, Clarence Edwards and wife Mary, Henry Edwards, Woodrow Edwards and wife Wanda, Nellie McEuen and husband Homer and Melba "Bee" Edwards; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Guy, Ralph, Rayburn, Rainey, Dewey, Burt, Everett and Estel Halbert, Della Edgar, Vessie Wolfe, Lena Wicmer, Pearl Halbert, Flossie Atchison, Tressie Wisdom, Eura Harper and Lula Miller. A graveside service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at Freeman Cemetery, Cherryville, MO with Bill Bennett officiating. The Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.
