Ruth Ann Vavra, 70, of south, rural Steelville passed away Friday, June 18, 2010 at her home. She was born July 27, 1939 in St. Louis, Missouri to Walter Dahlheimer and Beulah (Beyerstedt) Dahlheimer. In 1958, she was united in marriage to Joseph S. Vavra who preceded her in death on May 17, 1988. Ruth Ann was of the Catholic faith. She loved the outdoors, watching NASCAR and St. Louis Cardinals baseball. She will be sadly missed by her son, Joe Vavra and wife Charlotte of Steelville, MO; and one grandson, Joey Vavra of Steelville; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband Joseph Vavra. Visitation was from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 20, 2010 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral in Steelville, MO. A Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 21, 2010 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home with Father James Finder officiating. Committal prayer and burial were in the Meramec Hills Cemetery in Cuba, MO. Honored to be casket bearers were Michael Robertson, Delbert Callahan, Jerry Setzer and Dan Halbert. The Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.
