Stephen "Steve" Rolf Sexton, 75, of Steelville, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Steve was born on July 26, 1950, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Robert Sexton III and Leona (Rolf) Sexton. He graduated from Steelville High School with the Class of 1969. On August 8, 1970, he married the love of his life, Vicki Brown. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work, sharing nearly 56 years of marriage and raising two sons and a daughter. Steve was a proud member of Carpenter's Local Union 2298, where he worked for 30 years before retiring in 1998. He was baptized as a young man at Courtois Baptist Church and later became a member of Straightway Baptist Church in Steelville. Steve loved the outdoors. He enjoyed turkey hunting, trapping and raising foxes, riding his three-wheeler, golfing, and playing baseball and softball. He especially loved coaching his children's ball teams and treasured the time spent with his family. Whether at the ball field, in the woods, or simply visiting with friends, Steve was happiest when surrounded by the people he loved. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Leona Sexton; his brother, Robert Sexton; his great-granddaughter, Brinley Sexton; and his brother-in-law, Bob Becker. Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Vicki Sexton; his sons, Drayton (Tammy) Sexton of Steelville and Lucas (Kelly) Sexton of St. Louis; his daughter, Angela Sexton of Steelville; seven grandchildren, Drew and Megan Sexton, Trey (Star) Sexton, Kylee (Jayden) Burke, Lydia Sexton, Stephanie (Kyle) Reese, and Brooklynn Sexton; six great-grandchildren, Gabriel King, Kinsley Sexton, Sue Ann Sexton, Drayton Sexton, Eloise Reese, and Rowdy Reese; sisters-in-law, Karen (Alan) Miles and Linda Becker; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. Family and friends are invited to visit from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO. Steve will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, faithful Christian, and loyal friend. His gentle nature, strong work ethic, and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. His love for his family was evident in everything he did, and his memory will be treasured for generations to come.
