Susanne "Sue" Francis Helmering, nee Sutton, of Cuba, Missouri, formerly of Steelville, Missouri passed away Friday, March 6, 2015 at the age of 82 years, 2 months and 14 days.  She was born December 23, 1932 in St. Louis, Missouri to William and Stella Harbison Sutton. In June of 1950 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Cuba, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Laurence "Larry" L. Helmering. Sue worked along side her husband for many years in selling and delivering farm-fresh eggs. They sold to individuals and businesses such as restaurants, truck stops and nursing homes for more than fifty years. Many will remember Larry as the "Egg Man." She was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church and was involved in the Ladies Guild.  Sue and her parents help start St. Michael's Catholic Church in Steelville. For many years, Sue was very active in 4H club in Steelville , PTA and Boy Scouts while her sons were growing up. Sue is survived by her two sons, Alan Helmering and wife Karla of Linn, MO and David Helmering of Cuba, MO; one brother, Tom Sutton and wife Kathy of Long Branch, NJ; sister-in-law, Dorothy Viehman and husband Leslie of Florissant, MO; five grandchildren, James Helmering, Bobby Helmering and wife Heather, Matthew Helmering and wife Sarah, Tracy Jo Hibben and husband Robert Edward, and Laura Elizabeth Hoff and husband Nick; great-grandchildren, Matthew Robert Hibben, Zachary Wade Hibben, Christopher Glen Hibben, TJ Hibben, Malachi Helmering, Timmy Scott Helmering, Nicholas James Hoff and Allison Grace Hoff; other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Larry Helmering; one son, Tim Helmering; grandson, James Helmering, one brother, Sylvester Sutton; one sister, Ruby Graham and husband Tom; one sister-in-law, Betty Tanner. The Family received friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 9, 2015 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO. Funeral mass was held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Cuba, MO. with Father Rich Boever officiating. Organ music was played by Pat Elders. Committal prayer and interment were in the Holy Cross Cemetery at Cuba, MO. Honored to be casket bearers were Jamie Helmering, Matthew Helmering, Bobby Helmering, Bobby Hibbon, Nick Hoff and Jason Bishop. The Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.
