Ada “Darlene” Weatherby of Sullivan, Missouri passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2023 in the Missouri Baptist Hospital at the age of 82 years, 5 months and 5 days. Darlene was born March 17, 1941 in Steelville, Missouri to Earnest Payne and Edna Clonts Payne.
Darlene was united in marriage to “Lester” Joseph Weatherby on June 16, 1956 in DeSoto County, MS and to this union one son and two daughters were born.
Darlene enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and to other countries in the last several years. She also enjoyed baking, cooking and spending time tracing her ancestry.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earnest and Edna Payne; sister-in-law, Charlotte Payne; and brother-in-law, Howard Fields.
She will be truly missed by her husband of 67 years, Lester Weatherby of Sullivan, MO; one son, Scott Weatherby of Sullivan, MO; two daughters, Karen Weatherby of Labadie, MO and Peggy (Jeff) Thurmond of Sullivan, MO; two brothers, Ed (Mary) Payne of Foley, AL and Jim Payne of House Springs, MO; one sister, Diane Fields of High Ridge, MO; 4 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; other relatives; and friends.
There will not be any services. Ada chose cremation as her final disposition.
The Weatherby Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.
