Alisha Ransom Obituary

Alisha Isabel Ransom, nee Diaz, of Steelville, Missouri passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis surrounded by her family at the age of 55 years, 10 months and 7 days. She was born December 16, 1968 in Belleville, Illinois to Ricardo Diaz and Linda Sue Slape Diaz.

Alisha was united in marriage to the love of her life, Chris Ransom, on July 13, 1985 in Steelville and to this union two daughters were born.

In her earlier years of marriage, Alisha was employed in the Steelville School cafeteria, later owned The Flower Shop for a few years and eventually worked in real estate and earning her broker’s license while at Bob Perkins Realty.

Alisha loved traveling with Chris and her family. She spent many miles on the road traveling to several states throughout the U.S. and camping on most of those trips.

Alisha loved life and was a woman of faith and a strong believer in God. With her funny personality, she loved to make people laugh and always was an encourager. Even with her health issues, she stayed upbeat and had a motto “Don’t worry, stay positive” that she would share with her family and friends.

Alisha looked forward to cooking and baking for all of her big family whether it was Thanksgiving, Christmas, 4th of July, movie nights or other regular family events. She was well known for her fabulous meals and always looked forward in making more great memories for her family. Alisha also enjoyed decorating and especially loved decorating for Christmas.

She loved her family deeply and strived to be the best wife, mother and grandmother that she could possibly be. She loved having grandchildren and taking care of them anytime and they loved their treasured GiGi. Alisha will be dearly missed by not only her family but by all who loved and knew her.

She will be lovingly missed by her husband of 39 years, Chris Ransom; two daughters, Erica (Justin) Mincks of Rogersville, MO and Erin (Keegan) Callow of Wentzville, MO; three precious grandchildren, Fisher and Poppi Mincks and Bryar Callow; three brothers, Eric (Catherine) Diaz, Carlos (Ruth) Diaz and Rica Diaz all of Steelville, MO; three brothers-in-law, Mike (Mary) Ransom of Steelville, MO, Brian (Charlene) Ransom of Warrenton, MO and Nuck (Bridget) Ransom of Bourbon, MO; father-in-law, Dewayne “Murf” Ranson of Steelville, MO; special aunt, Marilyn Ransom of Steelville, MO; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
