Anna "Juanita" Pyatt Obituary

Anna “Juanita” Pyatt, nee Wilkinson, of Cherryville, Missouri passed away Friday, November 1, 2019 at Gasconade Manor in Owensville at the age of 90 years, 1 month and 13 days. Juanita was born September 19, 1929 in Davisville, Missouri to Lavern and Elsie Brown Wilkinson. On November 3, 1946, she was united in marriage to Noah Pyatt and to this union two sons and two daughters were born.

Juanita was employed at Brown Shoe Company for several years and attended Center Ridge Pentecostal Church. Juanita enjoyed keeping her home clean for her family, sewing, embroidering quilts, reading, traveling and watching the St. Louis Cardinals on TV. During her years in the nursing home, she looked forward to playing Bingo, her gardening, cooking and book clubs. Juanita also served on the Council at the nursing home which she thought was an honor. Throughout the years, she loved listening to gospel music, but most importantly she loved all of her family and spending time with them.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Noah Pyatt; one infant granddaughter, Shelly Beth Gibbs; one sister, Freda (Loyd) Hunter; four brothers, Clyde (Pat) Wilkinson, Kenneth (Doris) Wilkinson, Tim (Rilma) Wilkinson and Plas (Jean) Wilkinson; brothers-in-law; Rance Medlock, Esco (Eula) Pyatt, Otto (Martha) Pyatt, Lushen (Alice) Pyatt and John Pyatt; sisters-in-law, Della (Ray) Dicus, Haley (John) Tidwell, Nellie (Homer) Gault, Irene (Willie) Bryant and Thena (William) Dotson.

She will be sadly missed by her two sons, Gary (Judy) Pyatt of Wildwood, MO and Robert (Rhonda) Pyatt of Davisville, MO; two daughters, Phyllis (Tom) Gibbs of Viburnum, MO and Shannon (Patrick) Schmidt of Woodbridge, VA; eight grandchildren, Col. Kirk (Kim) Gibbs, Col. Anthony (Stephanie) Gibbs, Dr. Kyle (Amy) Gibbs, Major Miciah (Leah) Pyatt, Lauryn (Chris) Vogt, Zack Pyatt, Connor Schmidt and Ethan Schmidt; eleven great-grandchildren, Tyler, Kelsey, Ryan, Emelia, Ella, Kyleigh, Karissa, Keaton, Karson, Callen and Abraham; sister, Lois Medlock of Davisville, MO; brother, Leon Wilkinson of Cuba, MO; other relatives; and friends.

The Family received friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO with Rev. Bob Coleman and Pastor Harrison Brown officiating with Miciah Pyatt reading the obituary. Special music of "Beulah Land" and a medley of songs was sung by Bob and Carol Coleman with accompaniment by Shirley Brown on piano. Other music of "Come Spring" was sung by Kyle Gibbs and "Amazing Grace" was sung by Sherry Hensley. Memories were shared by Kyle Gibbs, Zack Pyatt, Anthony Gibbs and Kirk Gibbs.

Committal prayer by Pastor Harrison Brown and interment were in the Davisville Cemetery, Davisville, MO.

Honored to be casket bearers were Col. Kirk Gibbs, Col. Anthony Gibbs, Dr. Kyle Gibbs, Zack Pyatt, Maj. Miciah Pyatt, Lauryn Vogt, Ethan Schmidt and Connor Schmidt.

The Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.
