Anna "Marie" (Hewkin) Bonner

Anna Marie Bonner, nee Hewkin, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at her home in the Davisville area at the age of 94 years, 5 month and 3 days. Marie was born October 7, 1925 in Davisville, Missouri to Clifford John Hewkin and Opal Leah Martin Hewkin. On November 20, 1941 in St. Louis, Marie was united in marriage to George Henry Bonner and to this union four children were born.

Marie had attended Cherryville First Baptist Church for many years. She enjoyed entertaining the Pucky Huddle girls. She loved living on the farm and taking care of the cows, gardening, growing beautiful flowers, baking pies, sewing and taking care of her dog. Most all of all Marie loved her family, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cliff and Opal Hewkin; her husband,  Henry Bonner; one son, George Ronald "Ronnie" Bonner, two brothers, Herman (Violet) Hewkin and Johnny Eugene Hewkin; brothers-in-law, Loren Bonner, Roy Bonner and Thomas “Earl” (Marchell) Bonner; sisters-in-law, Myrtle Batz (Ralph) Haufle and Lucy (Ben) Pasley; and great-grandson, Jacob Bartola Solano.

She will be sadly missed by her son, John Reed (Kathy) Bonner of Catawissa, MO; two daughters, Jo Anna Bonner of Union, MO and Deborah Leah Bonner of Davisville, MO; seven grandchildren, Tracy Lynn (Oscar) Tirado, Charles Reed (Kelly) Bonner, Joan Kristin Solano, Sean (Ashley) Bonner, John Michael Bonner, Faith Hickelheim, Hope Lambert; eleven great-grandchildren, Lukas Oliver, Aamanda Oliver, Tyler Michael Hyde, Elisabeth Bonner, Landon Bonner, Angel Bonner, Layla Bonner, Casey Smith, Hollie Bone, Sam Davis and Bailey Davis; five great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; other relatives; and many friends.

The Family received friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2020 with Pastor James Burrus officiating. Special music of "Take my hand Precious Lord", "In the Garden", "What a Wonderful World" and "Amazing Grace" was played. A poem "I'll be there" was read by Hope Lambert and "To Those Whom I love" was read by Ashley Bonner. Sharing memories was Landon Bonner.

Committal prayer and interment were in the Cherryville Baptist Church Cemetery, Cherryville, MO.

The Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.
