Ardell Evans Obituary

Ardell Evans, nee Worley, of Steelville, Missouri passed away Monday, December 30, 2024 at Steelville Senior Living at the age of 95 years, 7 months and 24 days. She was born May 6, 1929 in Crawford County to Marion and Myrtle, nee Turnbough, Worley.

On January 11, 1947 in Potosi, MO, she was united in marriage to Ellis William Evans. They raised three sons, Bill, Frank , Steven and a daughter, Barbara.

Ardell had been a member of Shoal Creek Church for several years, she later attended faithfully the Arnold First Assembly of God Church for a number of years and after moving back to Crawford County, she attended Steelville First Assembly of God Church when she was able. Going to church and worshiping  had been a big part of her life since she was small.

Throughout the years, Ardell enjoyed camping with her family. She also spent many hours making quilts for her family and later for the grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Myrtle Worley; husband, Ellis Evans, daughter, Barbara Wagner; brothers, Cledes (Freda) Worley, Clifton Worley, Homer (Helen) Worley, Joe (Linda) Worley and Paul Worley; sisters, Mary Belle (Halic) Chandler, Rosalie (Norman) Hammonds Argie (Zeke)  Volner and brothers-in-law, Jim Lowery, Leeman (Bernice) Evans, Eldon (Della Mae) Evans and Leon Sellers; sisters-in-law, Lila Mae (Tom) Hunter, Lucille Hill and Ileen (Orville) Pratt.

She will be sadly missed by her three sons, Bill (Peggy) Evans of Springfield, IL, Frank (Connie) Evans of St. Louis, MO and Steve (Brenda) Evans of Harrison, AR; nine grandchildren; Jeff, Amy, Chad, Joshua, Grant, Gabriel, Zachary, Jeff and Megan; 24 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Ruby Lowery of St. Louis, MO; sister-in-law, Erma Sellers of Arnold, MO; nieces, nephews; other relatives; and friends.

The Family received friends on Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until service time.

Funeral services were held at 12:00 Noon at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO with Rev. Jim Pratt officiating. Special music of "When Mama Prayed" was played and "Beulah Land" was sung by Josh Evans and Michelle Worley.

Committal prayer and interment were in the Shoal Creek Cemetery, Berryman, MO.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Shoal Creek Cemetery c/o Britton-Bennett Funeral Home.

Honored to be casket bearers were Tristan Rundle, Josh Evans, Chad Evans, Grant Evans, Gabe Evans and Zack Evans.

The Evans Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.
