Barbara Berry Obituary

Barbara June Berry, nee Farrar, of Steelville, Missouri passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2019 in Sullivan at the age of 72 years, 3 months and 11 days. She was born September 20, 1947 in Waynesville, Missouri to Raymond and Estella Dulany Farrar. On September 13, 1975 in Steelville, Barbara was united in marriage to Stanley Berry and to this union one daughter was born.

Barbara graduated from Steelville High School in 1965. She was employed at the Division of Family Services retiring after forty years. Throughout the years, Barbara was involved in the community as a 4H leader and as a member of the Meramec Extension Club. She attended the Steelville Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed singing and sang in the choir in the Lutheran and Presbyterian Church before joining the Steelville Assembly of God. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting and knitting and loved working in her flower garden where she proved to have a green thumb.

Barbara loved all of her family and was there to help raise her niece and nephew after their mother died.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Estella Farrar; husband, Stanley Berry; one sister, Gail Hutson; and her father and mother-in-law, Carl and Maxine Berry.

Barbara will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter, Jennifer Berry of Stover, MO; one brother, Tim (Sandy) Farrar of Steelville, MO; four sisters, Tena (Ronnie) Slovensky and Sandy (Gene) Brinkley all of Steelville, MO, Tammy (Joe) Dean of Highland, IL, Alice (Albert) Archuleta of Columbia, MO; brothers-in-law, Rainey (Brenda) Hutson of Cuba, MO and Dennis (companion, Dale) Berry of Austin, TX; fourteen nieces and nephews, Jimmy (friend, Courtney) Hutson, Renee` (Bryan) Mayhan, Elizabeth (companion, Cindy) Slovensky, Margarett (friend, Nick) Labbee, A. J. (Jennifer) Archuleta, Alex Archuleta, Leah (Josh) Morgan, Lindsay Farrar, Joseph (friend, Brandy) Dean, Amanda Dean, Karen (Steve) Marshall, Renee’ (Sako) Beudjekian, Christopher (Elizabeth) Berry and Johannah (Ryan) Moore; step-mother-in-law, Audrey Berry of Houston, MO; other relatives; and many friends.

The Family received friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Friday, January 3, 2020 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 3, 2020 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating. Special music of "Rejoice the Lord is King" and "It is well with my Soul" was sung and played by Rev. Jerry Beers. Other music of "Angel Band" was sung and played on CD by nephew, Joseph Dean. Special memories were told by Tena Slovensky.

Committal prayer and interment were in the Steelville Cemetery.

Honored to be casket bearers were Renee` Mayhan, Elizabeth Slovensky, Margarett Labbee, Leah Morgan, Lindsay Farrar, Amanda Dean and Karen Marshall with honorary Jimmy Hutson, AJ Archuleta, Alex Archuleta and Joseph Dean.

The Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.
