Barbara Gregory Obituary

Barbara Jean Gregory, nee Eaton, of Cherryville, Missouri, age 78 years, 10 months and 30 days,  passed away Sunday, February 20, 2022 at her home surrounded by family. She was born March 21, 1943 in Davisville, Missouri to Duel Eaton and Rose Ann Green Eaton. Barbara grew up in Davisville and was a long-time member of the Davisville Assembly of God Church, now known as Davisville Community Church.  On February 1, 1964, she was united in marriage to Charles Lathan Gregory at the Cherryville Baptist Church.

Barbara was employed throughout the years at Adams Market and Dobbs Variety in Salem, Summer’s Market and Maces in Cuba and the Skillet Café in Rolla. She was a devoted wife to Lathan and loved taking care of him. She enjoyed cooking and taking care of her flower and vegetable gardens. Barbara loved to collect dishes and dolls, decorate her house and just “piddle” around the house.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Duel and Rose Ann Eaton; infant sister, Marjorie Marie Eaton; two brothers-in-law, Wayne (Jesse) Gregory and Tom (Anita) (Audrey) Gregory.

She will be sadly missed by her husband of fifty-eight years, Lathan Gregory of Cherryville, MO; sister, Fern (Jerry) Setzer of Cherryville, MO; sister-in-law, Alice (Rob) Morton of Strafford, MO; brother-in-law, Paul (Gaylene) Gregory of Ozark, MO; seventeen nieces and nephews, Chris (Tami) Richardson, Angela (Kelly) Edgar, Joey (Jenna) Richardson, Roger (Paula) Morton, Mike (Kelley) Morton, Stephanie (Ronnie) Striplin, Jason (Brittany) Morton, Darren Gregory, Jill (Jerry) Perryman, Tammy (Chuck) Daughtrey, Melissa Gregory, Eddie Gregory, Keith (Kerry) Gregory, Shawn Gregory, Grant (Darnelle) Gregory, Matt (Holly) Gregory and Tyler (Christy) Gregory; many great-nieces and great nephews; other relatives; and many friends.

The Family received friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 with Rev. Roger Morton and Rev. Joe Eaton officiating. Special music of "He Touched Me" was sung by the Morton Family. Other music of "Go Rest High" and a medley of songs was sung by Bob Coleman on guitar and accompanied on piano by Alice Morton.

Committal prayer and interment were in the Davisville Cemetery, Davisville, MO.

Honored to be casket bearers were James Martin, Anderson Richardson, Ainslee Richardson, Trey Knox, Roger Green and Billy Baker.
