Beatrice “Bea” Pauline Young, nee Wallen, of Mineral Point, Missouri passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2026 in her son’s home in Cuba at the age of 78 years and 7 days. Beatrice was born June 16, 1948 at Shoal Creek in Crawford County, Missouri to Floyd A. Wallen and Mary E. Brakefield Wallen.
She was united in marriage to Roy Linn Young on July 6, 1968 at Lookout Church in Crawford County, MO and to this union two children were born.
Beatrice was self-employed as a beauty operator for over 30 years, having a shop in Steelville, Viburnum and Cuba. She was known to go to many homes throughout the years to help the ladies who couldn’t get to their appointments at her shop.
She was a Christian and was a member at Big River Church in Mineral Point. She started the organization “Serving Sisters” through her church to help others for prayers, financially if needed and friendship. She was in years past a member of the VFW in Steelville, MO and later transferred her membership to the VFW in Farmington, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Mary Wallen; her husband, Roy Linn Young; two brothers, Lindell Wallen and Al (Connie) Wallen and brother-in-law, Frank Franklin.
She will be dearly missed by her son, Allan Young of Cuba, MO, daughter, Melinda Wright, nee Young, of Cuba, MO; Terry Stockman, fiancé,’ of Mineral Point, MO; 4 grandchildren, James Tittsworth of Berryman, April Tittsworth of Steelville, MO, Lorissia Tittsworth and significant other, Joshua Long and Aaron Mason and significant other, Samatha Ullrich all of Cuba, MO; 8 great-grandchildren; Mikie Tittsworth, Yazmxine Tittsworth, Chareles Kiblinger, Madison Stuart, Lauren Gaither, Roy Gaither, William Gaither and Mateo Long; step-grandchildren, Ethan Smith and Emma Hopkins; brother, George (Roberta) Wallen of Hillsboro, MO; one sister, Bonnie (Bob) Courtney of Highland Park, IL; sister-in-law, Vivian Wallen of Steelville, MO; special friends, Stephanie and Ed Politte; other relatives and friends.
The Family received friends from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.
Funeral Services were held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 11, 2026 with Pastor Austin Ward officiating. Special music of “Jealous of the Angels”, “Power in the Blood”, and “Ol' Time Rock’n Roll” was played along with “House of God” sung by Cindy Kampeter and a video of “On the Wings of a Dove” sung by Bea Young and son Allan. Scripture and prayers were shared by Tammy Cooley and Karen Faulkner.
Committal prayer and interment were in the Shoal Creek Cemetery, Steelville, MO.
Honored to be casket bearers were Ed Politte, Mikie Tittsworth, Joshua Long, Aaron Mason, Dale Wallen, James Wallen and Michael Davis.
