Benjamin Walter Pennock of Steelville, Missouri passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 29, 2022 in the Steelville Senior Living Center at the age of 95 years, 6 months and 17 days. Ben was born December 12, 1926 in Bourbon, Missouri to Walter and Florence Jones Pennock.
Ben grew up in Bourbon and when he was old enough, he joined the U.S. Army. He served honorably for two years. On March 10, 1947 in Steelville, he was united in marriage to Juanita Hendrix and to this union three sons and a daughter were born. He and his wife moved to Peoria, IL where he was employed at Caterpillar. Eventually, they moved to Steelville in 1968 where Ben and his family made their home.
Ben began a logging and a cabinet building business while living in Steelville. He made many cabinets for people in the area along with furniture. He dearly loved to garden and grew some amazing vegetables. He also enjoyed reading western books and loved to watch old westerns on tv. Ben attended Steelville Assembly of God Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Florence Pennock; his wife, Juanita Pennock; son, Bennie Joe Pennock; two brothers, Asa (Frances) Pennock and Zane (Carmaleet) Pennock; one sister, Bonnie (Woodward) Bouse; brothers-in-law, Norman Schmidt and Jim (Charlotte) Hendrix, sisters-in-law, Mildred Pennock, Dorothy (Harry) Harmon and Linda Hendrix.
He will be sadly missed by two sons, Larry (Pam) Pennock and Rob (Susie) Pennock all of Steelville, MO; one daughter, Yvonne Pennock of Steelville, MO; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren with two on the way; two brothers, Paul Pennock of Peoria, IL and Norby (Phyllis) Pennock of Bourbon, MO; one sister, Anita Schmidt; brother-in-law, Bill (Sally) Hendrix of Sullivan, MO; sister-in-law, Glenda Hendrix of Park Hills, MO; nieces, nephews; other relatives; and many friends.
The Family received friends from 12:00 Noon until service time on Sunday, July 3, 2022 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 3, 2022 with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating. Special music of "In the Garden" and "Amazing Grace" was played.

Committal prayer and interment with Full Military Honors by the U.S. Army were in the Keysville Cemetery.
Honored to be casket bearers were Jerry Schneider, Brandon Schneider, Corey Schneider,Matt Pennock, Ian Schneider, Asa Pennock, Roger Achurch, David Hills, Gavin Griffith and Tyler Blevins.
