Bernadette “Bunny” Alice Kelly, nee DeMorrow, of Viburnum, Missouri passed away Saturday, May 23 at the age of 81 years with the family by her side. She was born January 30, 1939 to Lloyd and Cecelia DeMorrow.
Bunny entered the U.S. Air Force in 1958 and served her country honorably for two years. She met her future husband, Andrew Kelly, and they were married on May 27, 1961 and to this union six children were born. They resided in California for seventeen years and then found their way to Missouri.
Bunny accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior on October 25, 1970. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Viburnum, MO.
Bunny and Andy were team drivers for Wayne Daniels Trucking Company for several years and Tracker Marine Boats of Lebanon, MO. After retirement, she enjoyed her life volunteering locally at Stonecrest Healthcare in Viburnum and doing church activities. She and her husband had purchased a trike motorcycle and took vacations and traveled to Alaska. She had been a member of the CMA (Christian Motorcyclist Association) for over eighteen years.
Bunny enjoyed working in her garden, sewing and making things for her grandchildren.
Bunny and Andy spent the last twenty-nine years inseparable in their fifty-nine years of marriage.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Cecelia DeMorrow; son, Brian Kelly; daughter, Catherine Umfress and son-in-law, James Umfress; grandson, Chad Umfress; and great-grandson, Eric Kelly.
She will be sadly missed by her loving husband, Andy Kelly of Rolla, MO; one daughter, Christine (Chris) Renner of Cuba, MO; three sons, Tim Kelly, Pat (Tammy) Kelly all of Viburnum, MO and Bob (Amy) Kelly of Leasburg, MO; eleven grandchildren; Anthony (Racheal) Kelly of Viburnum, MO, Jon (Marcia) Kelly of Neosho, MO, Brittany (Matt) Duncan of Viburnum, MO; Cody Umfress of Barnhart, MO, Corey Umfress of Cuba, MO, Andrea Kelly and Bethany Kelly of Leasburg, MO, Drew Renner and Kyle Renner of Cuba, MO, Kevin Kelly and Allison Lee of Batesville, AR; twenty great-grandchildren; one sister, Theresa Keller of Statesville, NC; one brother, David (Shirley) DeMorrow of Camden, AR; other relatives; and friends.
The Family received friends from Noon until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.
A Celebration of Life was held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO with Rev. Terry King officiating with Pat Kelly reading the obituary and sharing memories. Special music of "In the Garden" was sung by all of the family and friends with Joe Weber on piano and "She Loved" was sung by Amy Kelly. Other music of "I Sure miss You" was played.
Committal prayer and interment with Full Military Honors by the U. S. Air Force and the Salem American Legion Post 99 were in the Viburnum Cemetery (next to First Baptist Church), Viburnum, MO.
The Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the CMA (Christian Motorcyclists Association) or The Gideons Memorial Bible Program.
Please observe social distancing of six feet when attending the visitation and/or funeral. You may consider wearing a mask at that time. We thank you for your patience, respect and understanding for the Family and yourselves.
