Bertil Nils Karlberg of Steelville, Missouri passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2019 in St. Louis at the age of 85 years, 4 months and 5 days. He was born March 19, 1934 in San Francisco, California to George and Hilda Karlberg. On September 25, 1964 in Reno, Nevada, Bertil was united in marriage to Elaine Hall and to this union one son was born.
He served in the California Army National Guard. Bertil was a firefighter for twenty-nine years at Mare Island Naval Shipyard in Vallejo, CA. In 1994, he and his wife, Elaine, moved to Steelville. Bertil enjoyed his hobby of collecting model trains and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Bruce Karlberg.
He is survived by his wife of almost fifty-five years, Elaine Karlberg of Steelville, MO and one son, Thomas Karlberg of Winters, CA.; other relatives and friends.
He and his family chose cremation as his final disposition with no service.
