Bobby "Bob" James Stites of Steelville, Missouri passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2023 in Rolla, Missouri at the age of 85 years. He was born January 3, 1938 in Keysville, Missouri to Winfred and Dovie Oxendine Stites.
Bob was employed at a dairy farm for a number of years and eventually worked at Brown Shoe Company in Steelville for many years.
He always enjoyed bowling and outdoor activities such as gigging, coon hunting, playing ball and having fish frys at the river.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Winfred and Dovie Stites; two brothers, Cecil ( Pearl) Stites and Bill Stites; one sister, Ruby Stites; and sister-in-law, Delores Stites.
Bob is survived by one son, Randy (Laken) Stites of Branson, MO, three daughters, Bobbie (Mike) Smith of Little Rock, AR, Charity (Chris) Kaempfer of Hollister, MO and Robin Stites of Salem, MO; two brothers, Lane and Joe (Joyce) Stites of Steelville, MO; sister, Shirley (Mike) Plank of Steelville, MO; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews; other relatives; and friends.
The Family received friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.
Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 8, 2023 with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating. Special music of "How Great is Our God" was sung by daughter, Charity, on CD and "Go Rest High" was also played.
Committal prayer and interment were in the Cherryville Baptist Church Cemetery, Cherryville, MO.
Honored to be casket bearers were Coty Stites, Issac Granado, Heath Stites, Timothy Stites, Josh Whitman and Rod Mell with Chris Kaempfer, Christian Kaempfer, Allan Stites and Paul Stites as Honorary.
The Stites Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.
