Carolyn Marie (Vaughn) Emerson

Carolyn Marie Emerson, nee Vaughn, of St. Louis, Missouri passed away Friday, November 11, 2022 at the age of 78 years and 1 month. She was born October 11, 1944 in St. Louis to Albert “Lee” and Anna Elizabeth Hutson Vaughn.

She was united in marriage to Gerald “Jerry” Emerson on September 12, 1964 in St. Louis and to this union two sons were born.

Carolyn was employed as an administrative assistant throughout the years for several business’ including Golder Associates in St. Louis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Anna Vaughn; her husband, Jerry; and brother, Jim Vaughn.

She will be sadly missed by her two sons, Christopher (Monica) Emerson and Richard Emerson; brother, Dennis (Robin) Vaughn of Salem, MO; sister-in-law, Joyce Vaughn of Steelville, MO; grandchildren, Shelby Jurue Emerson, Kerstie Michelle Whitaker and Reachel Rubbo; two great-grandchildren, Alexandria Whitaker and Ryan Whitaker; other relatives; and friends.

The Family received friends from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2022 with Rev. Rick Haggett officiating. Special music of "Farther Along" and "Beulah Land" was sung and played by Dennis, Robin and Allison Vaughn.

Committal prayer and interment were in the Roberts Cemetery, Salem, MO.

Honored to be casket bearers were Richard Emerson, Christopher Emerson, Nate Beck, Jason Vaughn, Scott Stice and E.J. Epley.

The Emerson Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.
