Charles "Charlie" Homer Brown

Charles “Charlie” Homer Brown of Cherryville, Missouri passed away Sunday, May 18, 2025 in the Steelville Senior Living at the age of 74 years, 8 months and 18 days. He was born in St. Louis to Waylan and Katherine LaRoe Brown. Charlie was united in marriage to Jo Ann Gaddy.

Charlie was employed in St. Louis as an automotive mechanic for several years. In 2001, he and his family moved to the Cherryville area.

His passion was working on any type of vehicle and loved spending time riding his motorcycle. Charlie also enjoyed building his home along with hunting, especially deer and some occasional turkey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Waylan and Katherine Brown; his wife, Jo Ann Brown; and eight of his nine siblings.

He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Deanna Holtkamp of Cherryville, MO; two sons, Charles Anthony (Heather) Brown of St. Charles, MO and Brian (Eve) Gaddy of Weldon Springs, MO; one sister, Ruby Brown of Granite City, IL; 7 grandchildren, Tyler Brown, Jenna Brown, Christopher Holtkamp, Carlie Jo Zimmermann, Rebecca Brown, Melissa Brown and Taylor Stocker; other relatives; and friends.

The Family chose cremation as the final disposition.

The Brown Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.
