Clarence “Gene” Eugene Hall of St. James, Missouri passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2022 in his home at the age of 89 years, 4 months and 18 days. He was born March 22, 1933 in St. Louis, Missouri to Charles Thomas Hall and Iva Pearl Becker Hall. On June 5, 1976 in Cherryville, he was united in marriage to Nancy Evans and to this union three sons were born.
Gene served his country in the U.S. Army from 1953-1956 during the Korean War and continued in the Army Reserves until he was honorably discharged in 1961. He was awarded a National Defense Service Medal, Army Overseas Medal (Germany) and a Good Conduct Medal. He had been employed at Be Mac Transport for thirty-six years, retiring in 1988. He and Nancy attended NHIM Fellowship in Steelville.
In his spare time, he loved working in his yard and around the house, his “castle.” Gene was a great volunteer for projects whether it was making props or reupholstering chairs for the church or helping Nancy in her classroom at school. He also liked to build model airplanes, helped make derby race cars for Royal Rangers and help rebuild a Jeep with his sons. Gene was a very talented man with his hands. In the last few years, he also helped make gardens with his grandchildren. Throughout the years, Gene loved going with his family camping. He also enjoyed fishing and watching the History Channel. Most of all he loved being with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Hall and Iva Hall Williams; daughter, Jenene Renee Hall, who died before birth; four brothers, Woodrow (Dorothy) Hall, Charles (Mary Lee) Hall, Glen (Mary Margaret) Hall and Roy Hall; three sisters, Dorothy Regna, Emma (Jim) Murphy and Wilma Evans; sister-in-law, Jeannie “Glenda” Turner; and brothers-in-law, Adrian and Dobie Evans.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Nancy, of forty-six years; sons, Shannon Hall of Springfield, MO, Aaron Hall and Ashley Hall of St. James, MO, Kenneth Hall and Scott Williams both of Houston, TX; five grandchildren, Michael (Kianna), Kollin (Adia), Alexis, Brendyn, and Lucilla; two great-grandchildren, Raelyn and Hazel; four brothers-in-law, Johnny (Tami) Evans and J.D.
