Cleo Melburn Conaway of St. Clair, Missouri, age 75 years, 8 months and 6 days, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at his home surrounded by family. Cleo was born June 20, 1949 in Dillard, Missouri to Hollie Melburn Conaway and Bernice Dormalee Bell Conaway.
Cleo was united in marriage to Virginia Coplin and to this union one son was born.
Cleo was employed in construction through the years, helping to build the Arch in St. Louis and working on the pipelines in different states.
He had a passion for fishing and hunting whether small or large wild game whenever he could. Cleo also loved his pet dog Felicia and she went most everywhere he would go.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hollie and Bernice Conaway; brother, Jerry Conaway; sisters, Janice Ayers, Garry Lynn Conaway, Geraldine (Hal) Major, Joyce (David) Golden and Judy Woodcock; brother-in-law, Larry Henry.
He will be missed by his son, Chris (Courtney) Conaway of St. Clair, MO; sister, Ruth Henry of Troy, MO and two grandchildren, Caleb and Jerilynne Conaway of St. Clair, MO; other relatives; and friends.
The Family received friends from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 2, 2025 with Rev. Bob Coleman officiating. Special music of "Seven Spanish Angels" was played and other music of "In the Garden" and "Go Rest High" was sung and played by Carol and Rev. Bob Coleman on guitar.

Committal prayer and interment were in the Stone Hill Cemetery, Salem, MO.
