Connor Gale Mahurin

Connor Gale Mahurin, 32, passed away on June 11, 2026.

Born on September 6, 1993, in Jefferson City, Missouri, Connor was the beloved son of Kevin and Kathie Mahurin, loving husband of Shea Mahurin, and cherished brother of Aaron Mahurin.

Connor grew up in Steelville, spending most of his days playing baseball, basketball, golf and hanging out with his brother and friends.

He was a member of Steelville First Baptist Church.

Connor graduated from Steelville High School in 2012 and later earning  his degree from Missouri State University in 2017. He met Shea in 2014, and they married on February 19, 2022. Together they shared deep love, laughter, and unwavering support for one another. They traveled, encouraged each other’s dreams, and created so many meaningful memories. Connor worked as a surgical foot and ankle sales representative. He found great joy in helping people and spending time with his colleagues.

Connor loved life outdoors. Whether he was golfing, hunting, fishing, spending time at deer camp with family and friends, or sitting around a bonfire, he found peace in nature and saw God’s beauty in it everywhere he looked. One of his favorite traditions was the annual family camping trip, a gathering that brought generations together for nearly twenty years. Another favorite family tradition was Christmas when they played outdoor games that his mom and dad had designed in the yard regardless of the weather. He was also known for his legendary smoked wings, which family and friends eagerly looked forward to sharing. He loved being an uncle and treasured every opportunity to spend time and play with Macklin and Lucy.

He was a devoted Baltimore Ravens fan and, fittingly, loved the color purple. Connor loved bringing friends home to gather with the people he loved most. He adored his ornery and sweet Irie girl, his beloved dog, and those who knew them best often joked that the two shared the same personality.

Those who knew Connor will remember his warm smile, strong handshake, unforgettable hugs, and generous heart. He was an old soul with a daring spirit, a hard worker who took pride in everything he did, and someone who loved wholeheartedly. In return, he was deeply loved by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He was often found with his hands tucked into his bibs or vest, a familiar stance to those who knew him well. In his happiest moments, a subtle side smirk would appear, his quiet way of showing joy, whether enjoying a good bite of food, time outdoors, or admiring something simple like his freshly mowed lawn.

Connor was preceded in death by his granddad, Paul Simmons, whom he respected and loved dearly, his cousin, Christopher Bell and grandparents, Gale and Clara Mahurin.

In addition to his wife, parents, and brother, Connor is survived by his grandma Seena Simmons; sister-in-law Jenny Mahurin; nephew and niece Macklin and Lucy Mahurin; father-in-law Chip Compton and his wife Alicia; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Sydney and Jordan Compton; nephew Mason Compton; special aunt and uncle Julie and Paul Tyler; cousins Jackson and Seena Tyler; special aunt Gail Cape; uncle, Denver Mahurin, uncle, Terry (Joanie) Mahurin and Shane Mahurin; special friends, Zach Fester, Andrew Bishoff, Justin Bruno and Emi Santhuff; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other close friends who loved him dearly.

Connor often answered the question, “How are you?” with a simple, reassuring, “I’m good.” Those words reflect the way he lived—always wanting others to feel at ease and never wanting anyone to worry about him.

A private celebration of Connor’s life will be held at a later date.
