Dennis Burchard Obituary

Dennis Robert Burchard , age 70, passed away Friday, February 21, 2020 at his home in Davisville, Missouri. He was born July 21, 1949 in St. Louis to Robert and Mardel Burchard. Dennis was united in marriage on February 11, 1984 to Debbie Strathmann.

Dennis served his country honorably in the U.S. Marines. He was a member of the Davisville American Legion # 601. Dennis became involved in telecommunications during the service and made a career of it until retirement. After moving to the Davisville area, he drove a school bus for the Iron County Viburnum Schools. He also owned a gunsmith shop called Davisville Firearms. He and Debbie enjoyed riding their ATV’s on his farm and enjoyed raising cattle for a number of years. As a hobby, he spent some of his time as a mechanic working on vintage cars. Dennis also enjoyed reading novels and true stories about Viet Nam.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mardel Berry.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-six years, Debbie Burchard; one son, Robert (Tracy) Burchard of Ballwin, MO; one daughter, Rachel Mosir of Elkhart, IN; one brother, Dan Buxner of Scotland; one sister, Denise (Bob) Fowler of Collinsville, IL; three grandchildren, Tony Burchard, Megan Durham and James Ray; other relatives; and many friends.

Graveside services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Jefferson Barracks Cemetery in St. Louis, MO with Chaplin Richard Tudor officiating and Full Military Honors.

The Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home.
