Dennis Franklin Evans

Dennis Franklin Evans of De Soto, Missouri passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Mercy-Jefferson Hospital in Festus, Missouri at the age of 66 years, 4 months and 6 days. Dennis was born November 5, 1958 in Steelville, MO to Franklin Ellis Evans and Eulah Gilliam Evans.

Dennis grew up in Cherryville and in St. Louis, going back and forth to visit his grandparents for many years on their farm. That is where he gained knowledge on what it was to be a farm boy, learning to love cattle, horses and hunting deer. He later had his own acreage and enjoyed every minute when he was home

He was a mechanic technician by trade, working on semi-trucks mainly and car and motorcycles. Dennis loved what he did and took pride in his work.

Dennis was a great provider for his family and also willing to give the shirt off of his back to help others.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin and Eulah Evans.

He will be sadly missed by his son, Eric (Kimberly) Evans of Horatio, AR; two daughters, Jamie Evans of St. Louis, MO and Sarah Evans of De Soto, MO; 10 grandchildren, Zachary, Erik, Piper, Charli, Ryan, Kaden, Caitlyn, Caleb, Brooke and William;  3 great-grandchildren, Kensely, Tate and Emmerson; 2 brothers, Clifford (Barbara) Gilliam of Owensville, MO and William “Bill” (Cheryl) Evans of De Soto, MO; other relatives; and friends.

The Family received friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.

Graveside services were held at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025 with Bill Bennett and the Family officiating.

Committal prayer and interment were in the Czar Cemetery, Viburnum, MO.

Honored to be casket bearers were Wayne Skaggs, Ronnie Skaggs, Mark Cooper, Sean Butler, Brian Sakaoka and Kevin Cardillo.

The Evans Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.
