Edward "June Bug" Robertson Obituary

Edward “June Bug” Bryant Robertson, Jr. of Steelville, Missouri passed away Sunday April 9, 2023 in his home at the age of 72 years, 8 months and 16 days. He was born July 24, 1950 in St. Louis to Edward Bryant Robertson, Sr. and Trula Esther Fryman Hutchings.

On September 6, 1976, he was united in marriage to Sandra Kemerer in Crawford County.

He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. “June Bug” was employed in the timber industry working for Arneson Timber Co. for thirty years and Bass River Resort for several years. He loved to fish, deer hunt, watch wrestling, westerns and NASCAR. He always had his special dogs he loved and enjoyed listening to music.

He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Trula Robertson, Sr.; one brother, Rick Hutchings;  six sisters, Wanda Hawkins, Sybil (James) Ogrzewalla, Patricia (Odell) Evans, Charlene (Junior Amburgy) Hutchings, Betty (Curtis) Lefler and Jestine (Darrell) Evans; parents-in-law, Glenn and Doris Kemerer; and brother-in-law, Jerry King.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of forty-six years, Sandra Robertson of Steelville, MO; two sons, Glenn (Gina) Robertson I and Daniel (fiancé Amber Wayland) Robertson I all of Steelville, MO; two daughters, Renda Robertson of Potosi, MO and Tamara Robertson of Festus, MO; one brother, Gentry “Sonny” (Mary) Hutchings of Steelville, MO; two sisters, Geraldine King and Donna Tittsworth both of Steelville, MO; sisters-in-law, Karen Hutchings of Cuba, MO, Kimberly Kemerer and Sherry Shewcraft both of Festus, MO and Sue (Tom) Elliott of Marble Hill, MO; nine grandchildren, Anthony Robertson, Glenn Robertson II, Brandon Robertson, Hannah Bailey, Jazlynn Robertson, Kiersten Guitere, Sam Grant, Daniel Robertson II and Amber Spence; nine great-grand-children, Anastasia Robertson, Amara Robertson, Elliott Hayes, Kinley Spence, Jayce Spence, Kaydence Robertson, Tristan and Lilith Robertson and Leif Robertson; friend of the family, Linda Whitley; nieces; nephew; cousins; other relatives; and many friends.

The Family received friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 17, 2023 the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home with Rev. Charlie Jackson officiating. Special music of "Time in a Bottle", "Mr. Bo Jangle" and Colloquy was played.

Committal prayer and interment with Full Military Honors by the U.S. Army, VFW Bismarck Post 6947 and the Patriot Guard were in the Berryman Cemetery.

Honored to be casket bearers were Glenn Robertson II, Daniel Robertson II, Anthony Robertson, Nathan Helms, Timothy Kiblinger and Steven Lefler.
