Gloria Jean Stroup, nee Hamilton, of Bourbon, Missouri passed away Monday, April 20, 2020 at the St. Clair Nursing Center at the age of 71 years and 9 months. She was born July 20, 1948 in St. Louis to Dennis Hamilton and Juanita Bayless Hamilton. In September of 1969 in Cuba, Gloria was united in marriage to James Stroup.
Gloria graduated from Cuba High School and Cosmetology School. She worked in real estate for a few years and volunteered for the Red Cross. She enjoyed making ceramics, spending some time on the computer, traveling to Canada and enjoying her great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis and Juanita Hamilton; and one great-grandson, Bennett Kitchen.
She will be sadly missed by her husband of fifty years, James Stroup of Bourbon, MO; one son, James Lee (Lisa) Stroup I of Steelville, MO; two grandchildren, Billie Jean (Mark) Kitchen of Bourbon, MO and James Lee (Liz) Stroup II of Steelville, MO; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Ronnie Hamilton of Utah; other relatives; and friends.
The Family chose cremation as the final disposition.
There will be an inurnment at a later date in the Martin-Trask Cemetery, Cherryville, MO.
The Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.
