Howard Hutson Obituary

Howard Hutson, of Cherryville, Missouri passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at the age of 83 years, 3 months and 12 days. He was born August 14, 1942 in Keysville, Missouri to Santa Hutson and Rose Oxendine Hutson.

He graduated from Steelville High School in 1960. After graduation from high school, he was employed at Brown Shoe Co. and Pea Ridge Mine.

Howard served honorably in the U.S. Army from April 1964 to April 1966.

On July 14, 1967 at the Presbyterian Church in Cuba, MO, he was united in marriage to Marion Eaton and to this union one son was born.

He went to work in St. Louis as a Union Carpenter, retiring in 1999 after 28 years. Howard was a member of the Union Local 97. In his spare time, he enjoyed 4-wheeling and having his family nearby.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Santa and Rose Hutson; his wife, Marion Hutson of 53 years; son, Michael Hutson; brother, Bob Hutson; sisters, Dovie Mae (Ed) Conaway, Patricia (Richard) Ogle, Grace Rodgers, Elizabeth ( Bob) Phenix, Bernice Dierking and Edith (Dave) Cornick; brother-in-law, Sidney Ransom; sisters-in-law, Gail Hutson and Brenda Hutson.

Howard is survived by his daughter-in-law, Tammy Hutson of Steelville, MO; two grandchildren, Clayton Hutson and Randi Livesay; brother, Rainey Hutson of Cuba, MO; sister, Cecelia Ransom of Steelville, MO; brothers-in-law, Jim Rodgers and Ervin Dierking both of Sullivan, MO; and sister-in-law, Mary Hutson of Berryman, MO; other relatives; and many friends.

The Family received friends from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating. Special music of "Rock of Ages" and "Old Rugged Cross" was played.                             

Committal prayer and interment were in the Steelville Cemetery, Steelville, MO with full military honors by the U.S. Army, Washington American Legion Post #218 and Patriot Guard Riders of South Central Missouri.

Honored to be casket bearers were Mike Rabe, Tony Ransom, Mike Cornick, Steve Phenix, Robert Cornick and Bobby Hutson.

The Hutson Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home, Steelville, MO.
