James “Jim” Leroy Hogue of Steelville, Missouri, formerly of St. Louis, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Steelville Senior Living at the age of 85 years, 11 months and 22 days Jim was born September 16, 1936 in St. Louis, Missouri to Roy and Marie Scott Hogue.
Jim was united in marriage to Nancy Huey in the Fall of 1985 in St. Louis County.
Jim was employed for several years in the St. Louis school system as a coach and athletic advisor. He had attended the Ferguson Baptist Church. He loved swimming throughout the years and was a lifeguard in his younger days. He also enjoyed playing softball.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Marie Hogue; three sisters, Dolores Mayfield, Norma Jaeger and Janet Hackman.
He is survived by his wife of almost thirty-seven years, Nancy of Steelville, MO; one son, Randy (Lisa) Foshee of Steelville, MO; four grandchildren, Paul (Shara) Roberts of Indianapolis, IN, Sarah (Scott) Snofke of O’Fallon, MO, Lauren (Clay) Martin of Kentucky and Justin (Sara) Foshee of Amarillo, TX; seven great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Rylan, Alex, Charlotte, Noah, Makayla and Clayton.
The Family received friends from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2022 with Rev. Bob Coleman officiating. Special music of "Precious Memories" and "Lord, I'm Coming Home" was played.
Interment was in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Leadington, MO.
The Hogue Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.
