Janell (Michaels) Stewart

Janell Stewart, nee Michaels of Cherryville, Missouri passed away on Monday, December 7, 2020 at her home in Holt, Missouri at the age of 71 years, 7 months and 6 days. She was born May 1, 1949 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Arthur and Lorrine, nee Johnson, Michaels. On August 18, 1968 in Kirkwood, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Dennis T. Stewart and to this union they raised one son and two daughters.

Janell was a very caring licensed LPN retiring from the profession and later became a sub-mail carrier for a few years. She attended the Cherryville First Baptist Church.

Janell enjoyed in her spare time cross stitching and plastic canvas stitching. She loved nature and was an animal lover. She loved traveling throughout the U.S., Costa Rico and all of the provinces of Canada. Most of all she loved her grandchildren and family and the time spent with them.

She was preceded in death by her father; Arthur Michaels; her husband, Dennis T. Stewart and her little dog companion, Sadie.

She will be sadly missed by her mother, Lorrine Michaels of Hazelwood, MO; her son, Wayne (Traci) Stewart of Cherryville, MO, grandchildren, Brady (Kimberly) Stewart, Roman Stewart and Victor Stewart; daughter, Jill (Daniel) Nichols of Holt, MO, grandchildren, Crystal (Spencer) Barbeau, Danielle Nichols and Nicole Nichols and daughter, Jennifer Stewart of Affton, MO, grandchildren, Trevor Brock and Wyatt Brock; one sister, Colleen (Carl) Wolf of Cape Coral, FL; two brothers, Jeffery Michaels of Freeburg, IL and Clifford Michaels of Hazelwood, MO; other relatives; and friends.

The Family received friends from 4:00 to 8:00 on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 13, 2020 with Rev. Lyndell Decker officiating. Special  music of “ I’m Already There”, “Hold On to Memories”, “Keep Me in your Heart” and “I Hope you Dance” was played.

Committal prayer and interment were in the Tesleigh Acres Family Cemetery in Cherryville, MO.

Honored to be casket bearers were Brady Stewart, Roman Stewart, Victor Stewart, Danielle Nichols, Nicole Nichols, Trevor Brock and Wyatt Brock with Crystal Barbeau as honorary.

The Stewart Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home.
