Jennie Bernice Adams, née Crabtree, was born June 7, 1922 at Courtois, Missouri to Carac Alvin Crabtree and Emma Elizabeth (Turnbough) Crabtree.
She departed this life on May 27, 2022 at her home in Viburnum, Missouri at the age of 99 years 11 months 20 days
On March 14, 1940 at Potosi, Missouri, Bernice was united in marriage to Jacob Vernon Adams. Three sons and two daughters were born to this union. They enjoyed sixty-one years together when Jake passed away in 2001.
Bernice had attended Lookout Church several years ago. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, canning, making maple syrup and swimming. She also loved being with all of her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carac and Emma Crabtree and husband Jake; three infant brothers; one brother Orville (Lucille) Crabtree; two sisters Eunice (Harry) Wood; Geraldine (Joseph) Alexander; brother-in-law, Harold Turnbough; brothers-in-law and sisters-in law, Clifford (Gertie) Adams; Manervia (Willard) Arisman; Theffie (Hilma) Adams; and Nellie (Leslie) Gilliam; one grandchild, Eddie Moses; and one great-grandchild, Kyle Seppi.
She is survived by her children, Betty (Bruce) Moses of Buckeye, Arizona; Ray (Phyllis) Adams of St Louis, MO; Kenneth (Paulette) Adams of Viburnum, Mo; Larry (Barbara) Adams of St Louis, Mo; Sharon (Frank) Orris of Newport News, Virginia; one sister Minnie Turnbough of St. Louis, Mo; ten Grandchildren; Michael (Maria) Moses of AZ; Keith (Jill) Moses of AZ; Jennifer Adams of St. Louis, MO; Joann (Ted) Ahrens of Imperial, MO; Vicky Adams of St Louis, MO; Richard (Andrea) Adams of Clever, MO; Kathryn (Mike) Seppi of St Louis, MO; Michelle (Dan) Harvatin of Lake St Louis, MO; Nicholas (Kaela) Adams of St Louis, MO; Rachel (Alex) Cartaya) of GA; and granddaughter-in-law Krystle Moses; 19 Great-grandchildren; 17 Great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The Family received friends from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating. Special music of "Start with Well done" was sung and played by Betty and Bruce Moses. Other music of "Amazing Grace", "You Raise me Up" and "Go Rest High" was played.
Committal prayer and interment were in the Old Dillard Cemetery, Davisville, MO.
Honored to be casket bearers were Richard Adams, Nicholas Adams, Matthew Moses, Keith Moses, Kyle Moses and Ted Ahrens.
The Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.
