Jerry Martin Rulo of Steelville, Missouri passed away Monday, August 16, 2021 at Phelps Health in Rolla at the age of 54 years, 4 months and 7 days. He was born April 9, 1967 in Potosi, Missouri to Ray Warden and Florence Rulo.
Jerry was united in marriage to Amelia “Amy” Payne on December 24, 1992 in the First Baptist Church of Steelville and to this union one son and one daughter were born.
Jerry was a member of the Steelville First Baptist Church for many years. He loved his church and would be involved in many of their youth events such as Disciples Now and would help out in the nursery if needed. Also, he would drive the bus to youth activities and for VBS. He was employed for several years as a butcher at Country Mart in Steelville, as the meat manager at Maces and later as security at Bass River Resort along with working the hog roasts for Stephan. He was also a member of the Butcher Association.
Jerry loved the outdoors. He was avid hunter of turkey, deer, rabbits, squirrels and a fisherman. He enjoyed cutting wood, going on trail rides and shoeing horses.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Warden, Sr.; brother, Ray Warden; sister, Debbie Sorenson; and parents-in-laws, Virginia (Victor) Payne.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of nearly twenty-nine years, Amelia “Amy” Payne-Rulo of Steelville; children, Jeramy Rulo and Jennafer (Clinton Gallagher) Rulo all of Steelville and granddaughter, Kamelia Grace Mayre Gallagher; his mother and step-father, Florence (Warren) Scott of Mineral Point, MO; two brothers, Terry (Margie) Rulo of TN and Deon Robinson of Potosi, MO; two sisters, Ruth (Lynn) Edgar of Farmington, MO and Jeannie (D.J.) Hart of Potosi, MO; sister-in-law, Stephanie Warden of Steelville; brother-in-law, Jerry Sorenson of IL; many nieces, nephews; other relatives; and friends.
The Family received friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Friday, August 20, 2021 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.
Funeral services were held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, August 20, 2021 with Rev. Rick Haggett officiating. Special music of a Medley of songs was sung and played on guitar by Bob Coleman. Other music of "Wind Beneath my Wings" and "Go Rest High" was played.
Committal prayer and interment were in the Cedar Grove Cemetery, Salem, MO.
Honored to be casket bearers were Jeramy Alan Rulo, Clinton Alan Gallagher, D.J. Hart, Dakota Warden, Eric Edgar and Deon Robinson
