Jolly Ansel Watson

Jolly Ansel Watson of Rolla, Missouri passed away Monday, October 21, 2019 in Columbia at the age of 81 years, 5 months and 27 days. He was born April 24, 1938 in Gladden, Missouri to George and Flossie Terrill Watson. On March 10, 1958 in Timber, Missouri, Jolly was united in marriage to Joy Piatt.

Jolly was a self-employed logger for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joy Watson; one daughter, Pam Glore; two sisters, Imo (Elmo) Dooley and Iretta Yelton; four brothers, Ondo (Mildred) Watson, Elva (Elmo) Watson, Lovel Watson and infant, Thurman Watson; great-grandchild, Skyler Glore; sisters-in-law, Mildred Watson and Dormilee Watson.

He will be sadly missed by his two sons, Phillip (Connie) Watson of Versailles, MO, Paul (Patty) Watson of Cuba, MO; and daughter, Jamie (Mikal) Piva of Rolla, MO; son-in-law, Albert Glore III of Steelville, MO; three brothers, Ronnie (Sue) Watson of Williamsburg, MO, Buren (Ellien) Watson of Pekin, IL and Vernell Watson of Gladden, MO; two sisters-in-law, Lomagene Watson of McKittrick, MO and Norma Jean Watson of Summersville, MO; nine grandchildren, Tammy (Bruce) Volner, Matthew (Elizabeth) Watson, Kevin (Jennifer) Glore, Kayla Glore, Cody Watson, Casey (Michael) Montgomery, Cheynne Howard, Connor Howard and Cassidy Howard; eleven great-grandchildren, Riley Brown, Megan Volner, Camron Volner, Sarah Archambault, Christian Watson, Lyric Glore, Liberty Glore, Emelia Glore, Kaylee Piersall, Brayden Watson and Hadley Montgomery.

The Family received friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO with Rev. Eddie Jones officiating.

Honored to be casket bearers were Albert Glore, Kevin Glore, Matt Watson, Cody Watson, Michael Montgomery and Bruce Volner.

Committal prayer and interment were in the Steelville Cemetery.

The Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.
