Kaye Eileen Turnbough, nee Lindsey, of Steelville, Missouri passed away Sunday, June 14, 2020 in her home at the age of 86 years, 11 months and 7 days. Kaye was born July 7, 1933 in St. Louis, Missouri to Robert and Beatrice Gooch Lindsey and raised by her mother and step-father Marvin R. Pfeiffer. She was united in marriage to William “Bill” L. Turnbough, Sr. on October 31, 1953 in St. Louis and to this union three sons and two daughters were born.
Kaye was employed by McGraw-Hill Publishing as a customer service book specialist retiring after twenty-two years with the company. She was a long time loyal and faithful member of the Cherryville First Baptist Church. Kaye was involved in her surrounding community being a lifetime member of the Trail Blazers Saddle Club, a 4-H Leader of the Saddle Tramps Horseman group and working the election polls for many years. She was also in the women’s quilting group at her church, enjoyed playing cards and Scrabble and baking and decorating cakes for others.
She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather; her husband, Bill Turnbough; two sons, William L., Jr. and Don E. Turnbough; two grandchildren, Brandy Turnbough and Bobbie Sue Carrow; three brothers, Frank Pfeiffer, Richard Lindsey and Ronald Lindsey; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Willard Turnbough, Jake Turnbough, Wilma (Riley) Todd and Zelma (Vondell) Callahan.
She will sadly be missed by her one son, John Turnbough of Steelville, MO; two daughters, Susan (Charles) Bogert of Cedar Hill, MO and Sandy (Mike) Orr of Cherryville, MO; one brother, Marvin (Laura) Pfeiffer of Imperial, MO; two sisters, Gail (Ned) Ellet of El Dorado, KS and Roberta Lindsey of OK; sister-in-law, Rosalene Turnbough of Davisville, MO; seven grandchildren, Katie, Billy, Joanna, Kristen, Jake, Jessie and Alan; five great-grandchildren, Liam, Eydie, Lucy, Vayda and Wyatt.
The Family received friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2020 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.
A Private Family funeral service was held on Saturday, June 20, 2020 with Rev. Doug Windle officiating. Special music of "He's Got the whole world in His hands". "Blessed Assurance", "Leaning on the Everlasting arms" and "Go Rest High" was played. Memories were shared by family and friends.
Committal prayer and interment were in the Cherryville First Baptist Church Cemetery.
Honored to be casket bearers were Jacob Turnbough, Nathan Bobeen, William Turnbough, III, Chuck Bogert, Terry Eiler and Alan Carrow.
