Kenneth “Bud” Everett Biggs of Overland, Missouri passed away Thursday, March 23, 2023 at his home at the age of 99 years, 6 months and 13 days. He was born September 10, 1923 in Max, Missouri to James Everett Biggs and Johnnie Mae Ball Biggs. He grew up on a farm at Max and later at a farm in Sligo and graduated from Dillard High School. After graduation, he moved to St. Louis working at various jobs and eventually became employed at Emerson Electric and later McDonnell Douglas, retiring in 1986. On November 15, 1947 in Sligo, he was united in marriage to Anna Mae Howdeshell and to this union three sons and two daughters were born. During his thirty-four years at McDonnell Douglas, he worked on several important projects such as the F101, the Banshee F2H-4, F15 and F18 in which he assembled the first set of retractable steps for that aircraft.
Kenneth loved spending weekends and more time after retirement at the farm in Sligo. He enjoyed hunting and working on the farm, reworking small engines and being an avid reader of westerns and whatever was in front of him.
He and Anna were faithful long-time members of Trinity Baptist Church, attending for over 50 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Johnnie Mae Biggs; one daughter, Karen Ann Biggs; two brothers, Gail Biggs and Orin and wife Clarinda Biggs; two sisters, infant, Margerite Biggs and Lorene and husband Vondel Butts.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of almost 76 years, Anna Biggs of Overland, MO; daughter, Sharon (Steve) Wise of St. Charles, MO; sons, David Biggs of St. Peter’s MO, Wayne (Sherry) Biggs of Salem, MO and Gregory Biggs of St. Louis, MO; four grandchildren, Jeffrey (Julie) Wise, Timothy Wise, Maegann (Adam) Parker and Mathew (Amanda) Biggs; six great-grandchildren, Otto, Reid and Murphy Parker, Oliver and Ella Biggs and Dash Aitken; one brother, Daniel (Carlena) Biggs of Salem, MO; and sister-in-law, Susan Biggs of Eureka, MO; other relatives and many friends.
The Family received friends from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 26, 2023 with Rev. Michael Garn and Keith Robinson officiating. Special music of "This World is not my Home", "Take My Hand, Precious Lord" and "Go Rest High" was played. Memories and the obituary were shared by Keith Robinson.
Interment was in the Freeman Cemetery, Cherryville, MO.
Honored to be casket bearers were David Biggs, Wayne Biggs, Greg Biggs, Jeff Wise, Tim Wise, Matthew Biggs, Steve Wise and Adam Parker.
