Larry Dale Pennock of Steelville, Missouri, age 71 years, 8 months and 14 days, passed away Friday, September 19, 2025 at St. Luke’s Hospital in St. Louis. He was born January 5, 1954 in Rolla, Missouri to Benjamin and Juanita, nee Hendrix, Pennock.
Larry grew up in Steelville and graduated from Steelville High School in 1972, the same year he started building a home for he and his bride to be. On June 16, 1972, he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Pam Cassidy, and to this union two daughters were born.
In his early years, he was employed at Cape and Kehner’s, Townson Tree Service and Meramec Industries. He then started his logging business and continued with that retiring after 40 plus years. During those years, he started a kiln dried lumber business in 1996 and it is still operating today.
Larry was a jack of all trades and could solve any dilemma that arose. He loved hunting deer and turkey, fishing, gardening and working on several wood projects through the years. In his last days, Larry loved sitting on his new porch which all of the family helped build.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Juanita Pennock; brother Bennie Joe Pennock; and father-in-law, Charles Cassidy.
He will be forever missed by his loving wife of 53 years, Pam Pennock; daughters, Lavada (Roger) Achurch of Steelville, MO and Tammy (David) Hills of Rolla, MO; his brother, Rob (Susie) Pennock of Steelville, MO; his sister, Yvonne Pennock of Steelville, MO; mother-in-law, Betta Cassidy of Steelville, MO; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dave (Neva) Cassidy, Osten Cassidy, Martha (Steve) Harmon all of Steelville, MO, Ann Cassidy and Pat (Frank) Cassidy all of Owensville, MO and Donna (Mike) King of St. Peters, MO; long time employee and friend, Steven Albin; other relatives; and friends.
Larry chose cremation as his final disposition.
There will be a Private Family inurnment in the Keysville Cemetery at a later date.
