Laurel "Laurie" Ann Ransom, nee Meade, of Steelville, Missouri passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022 in St. Louis at the age of 49 years, 11 months and 16 days.
Laurie was born February 23, 1972 in St. Louis to Willard “Bill” and Dorothy Meade. She grew up in Cuba attending Cuba High School and continued her education at E.C.C. (East Central College). Laurie eventually married Jeffrey Renner and to this union, three sons were born.
On October 7, 2017 at Hoppe Spring in Steelville, she was united in marriage to Johnnie Ransom. Laurie was a very talented artist who loved painting and making sketches. She loved the outdoors; whether it was gardening, walking in the woods, fishing or kayaking down the river with their dog, “Zeke.” She also loved “flutterbys”, butterflies, all living creatures and everything in Mother Nature along with her meditation time. Laurie enjoyed collecting old glass and metal door knobs. She was a great cook, loved to cook and grill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Dorothy Meade; and a brother, Daniel Meade.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband, Johnnie; three sons, Matt (Dani) Renner of San Diego, CA, J.D. Renner of St. Louis, MO and Ben Renner of Springfield, MO; three grandchildren, Glycerine, Emily and Jack; brother, Billy (Deborah) Meade of St. Charles, MO; two sisters, Debbie Dickens of Broken Arrow, OK and Shari Clary of Cuba, MO; special friend, Sheldra Thomas; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends.
The Family received friends from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.
A Celebration of Life was held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2022. Shane Ryerson was the officiant for the service. Special music of "Over the Rainbow"/"What a Wonderful World", "Can't Stop the Feeling" and "Photograph" was played. Memories were shared by family and friends.
Live streaming was done on the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home Facebook page during the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the funeral home for expenses.
