Mary Josephine (Stulce) Blount

Mary Josephine Blount, nee Stulce, of Viburnum, Missouri passed away Saturday, April 27, 2024 in Pilot Knob, Missouri at the age of 87 years, 6 months and 10 days. She was born October 17, 1936 in St. Louis, MO to Raymond and Ethel Miller Stulce. 

On September 11,1954, she was united in marriage to Billy E. Blount and to this union two sons were born.

Mary was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, sketching and most of all spending time with family. She also enjoyed volunteering at Stonecrest Nursing Center in Viburnum.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Ethel Stulce; her husband, Billy Blount; brothers, Jonie Stulce, Raymond “Curly” Stulce, Emory Stulce, Fred Stulce, Louis Stulce, Charles Stulce, Carl Stulce and Bob Stulce; sisters, Frankie Stulce, Berniece Walsh and Louise Yount.

She will be lovingly missed by her two sons, Randy (Resha) Blount of Viburnum and Ed (Candy) Blount of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren, Lori Blount of St. James, MO, Collin (Sophia) Blount of Cherryville, MO, Andrea (Sam) Harmon of Viburnum, MO; great-grandchildren, Kaylee Mankin, Audrey Mankin, Ezra Blount and Kaden Harmon; other relatives and friends.

The Family received friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.

Funeral services were held at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 with Rev. Robb Elders officiating. Special music of “Where Her Heart Has Always Been”, “In the Arms of an Angel”, “I’ll Carry You Home” and “When You Come Back To Me” was played.

Committal prayer and interment were in the Upper Indian Creek Cemetery, Viburnum, MO.

Honored to be casket bearers were Sam Harmon, Dave Coghlan, Donald Stulce, Collin Blount, Randy Blount, Ed Blount and Steve England.

The Blount Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.
