Nancy Carol (Huey) Hogue

Nancy Carol Hogue, nee Huey, of Steelville, Missouri, formerly of St. Louis, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at Steelville Senior Living at the age of 89 years, 9 months and 18 days.

She was born in Flat River, Missouri to Roy and Henreitta Turnbough Huey. On August 12, 1933, she was united in marriage to Paul Eugene Foshee and to this union one son was born.  She later was married to James Hogue in February of 1984.

After high school, Nancy was employed at Carter Carburetor, retiring after thirty-three years. Along with her daily job, she was also a model for the company and in the early 1950’s she was crowned Queen of Carter Carburetor. In the 1950’s, she also modeled for Woolworths in St. Louis.

She attended Berkley Free Will Baptist Church for many years and later the Ferguson Free Will Baptist. Nancy had a passion for gardening and flowers. She also loved animals and always had her pet dogs nearby.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Henreitta Huey; former husband, Paul Foshee, husband, James Hogue; 2 sisters, Charlotte McGinnis and Edna Ruth Umflett.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Randy (Lisa) Foshee of Steelville, MO; four grandchildren, Paul (Shara) Roberts of Indianapolis, IN, Sarah (Scott) Snofke of O’Fallon, MO, Lauren (Clay) Martin of Kentucky and Justin (Sarah) Foshee of Amarillo, TX; seven great-grand-children, Brooklyn, Rylan, Alex, Charlotte, Noah, Makayla and Clayton; brothers-in-law, Denver Umflett of Little Rock, AR and Joe McGinnis; other relatives; and friends.

The Family received friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 2, 2023 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 2, 2023 with Rev. Bob Coleman officiating. Special music of "The Old Rugged Cross" and "How Great Thou Art" was played.

Committal prayer and interment were in the Wood Lawn Cemetery, Leadington, MO.

Honored to be casket bearers were Justin Foshee, Paul Roberts, Rylan Roberts, Ted Schauwecker, Lauren Martin and Randy Foshee.

The Hogue Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.
